Q. What is ZevoPals for Students/Parents/Caretakers?

Ans: ZevoPals is a service that brings convenience to students/parents/caretakers in terms of saving time and energy. Students don’t need to drive to an extracurricular activity after school. We bring professional providers to your neighborhood. This gives students and parents/care takers and oppurtunity to take lessons with friends and neighbors.

Q. I am interested in taking lessons. What do I do ?

Ans:
1) Sign up on our website.

2) Pick an activity you want to take lessons for

3) Form a group (collect 3 or more friends who are interested in the lessons or ask for help.)

4) Send us a group request

We will set up the rest and have the lessons in your neighborhood.

Q. How do I form groups?

Ans: We ask parents to form their own trust groups, with friends/siblings of similar age and interest. It is very important that you know the family/premises where your kid will be taking lessons. ZevoPals will suggest you friends based on your past group mates, participants/kids in your area with similar age/ interest and experience level and also through your social network, but these are just suggestions – it is entirely up to participants/parents/guardian to decide with whom to form the group.

Q. Where do the classes take place?

Ans: Your group is free to choose any convenient location for lessons. Many groups choose to have lessons at one house and others choose to rotate between each student’s house in the group., In latter each family gets to host just once or twice in a session. you can also choose a public place to have lessons.
Example: If your group has 6 kids and have signed up for 12 chess classes, each family will have to host just twice in 3 months.

If you live in a neighborhood which has a library or a cabana or some space that can be used by residents for taking lessons, you can have lessons in such places as well.


Q. How do I change host location?

Ans: Once your group is formed, you can login to your account and click on the group you want to request change of host location. You can edit the location there. Please note that we require you to make the change 24 hours prior to your class. We send reminders on the day of your class, so the reminder email should have the updated location.
If for some reason, you need to make a change after the reminder for class has gone out, please make sure you communicate to the rest of your group/ teacher and everyone is aware of the change. Its very important that everyone responds to this change to avoid last minute confusions on location or any other change you are requesting.


Q. What are the cancellation/make up/ refund policies?

Ans: Here are our policies for Private lessons and Group Lessons:

Private lesson policies

1. Sign up for 8 lessons (8 lessons= one session) and you can renew thereafter. For the first session of any activity, if teacher and group are not a good fit, we can change the teacher at any point during the session or refund money for not completed classes (Example: you signup for painting lessons for 8 weeks and do not wish to continue after 3 lessons, we will provide a new teacher to better fit your needs and if that still does not work, we will refund money for remaining 4 lessons.)

2. No refund for signed up 8 lessons if you renew/re-enroll.

3. We need 24 hour prior notice for cancellation, make up will be provided based on teachers availability ( either at the end of session or mutual common time between teacher and student). Please note: you are allowed one cancellation per session.

4. If teacher or Zevopals, for any reason decide to not continue offering lessons at any point in the session, you will be refunded money for the not conducted lessons.

Group lesson policies

1. Sign up for 8 lessons (8 lessons= one session) and you can renew thereafter. Since its a group setting, we will need to dissolve the group or reform it if some of group members approve teacher and some don’t.

2. No refund for the 8 signed up lessons if you re-enroll/renew

If the entire group agrees, class can be cancelled with 24 hour prior notice, make up will be provided based on teachers availability ( either at the end of session or mutual common time between teacher and student). Please note: you are allowed one cancellation per session. No makeups for more cancellations in that session
In a group class, there is no makeup/ refund if a student from the group misses the lesson.
If a teacher misses a class, full refund or make up will be provided

Q. How is group pricing decided?

Ans: Group pricing is decided based on the extracurricular activity, providers cost and number of participants confirmed by the date in the “group creation”. You will be communicated with information on email.

Q. How do I get a makeup class?

Ans: Since this is a group setting and to be able to get the teacher to your house at affordable prices, we are unable to offer makeup class if participant in a group misses the class. The teacher will try his/her best to cover up on missed curriculum for that participant. If the entire groups wants to reschedule, we can allow it once in one session (one session= 8 lessons).

For private lessons, a makeup will be provided if a 24 hour cancellation notice is given prior to the class time. Please see Lesson Policies for details.

Q. What happens if teacher misses a class?

Ans: In case of teacher missing the class, he/ she will try their best to reschedule the class to the time that works for everyone in the group. In case that is not possible, amount for that class will be refunded.


Q. What happens if whole group needs to reschedule?

Ans: That is possible. If everyone in the group has to reschedule, you can talk to the teacher and reschedule that class if the group and teacher can find a common reschedule time. One reschedule is allowed in every session (one session = 8 lessons)

Q. How do I pay for lessons?

Ans: Payment can be made by PayPal on our website. Payments have to be made to reserve your spot in the group and finalize the group pricing. Parents are advised not to pay teachers directly in any form – cash/ checks etc.

Q: May I meet with a teacher for an interview free of charge?

Ans: All teachers are professional and are hired by providers after screening. We can request skype call with teacher if the provider agrees to it.


Q What if I do not have a group of my own.

Ans: We need atleast a group of 4 to start the session. You can send us a group request with contacts you have. We may be able to get you started. If you do not have any contacts, we can suggest you interested and most suited students that match.
We highly recommend to bring your own friends, known contacts, school friends, neighbors you trust.


Q. I have created a group request and haven’t heard back . When can I expect a response?

Ans: If you haven’t received any notification yet, we are working to set up your group. Co-ordinating with other parents and teachers may be causing a delay. We generally update you in a week’s time on status of your request.

Q. Are the teachers background checked?

Ans: Yes. Teachers are either background checked by providers or us. Please feel free to do your due diligence if you want more information on teacher or carry out more background checks.

Q. Who is responsible for participants/kids at the time of the class

Ans: This is the same as you would have your participant/child in a class outside your home. The teacher manages the class. We recommend one of the parents/caretaker/host to be present at the host location to monitor the class.


Q. What if group and teacher are misfit?

Ans: Sign up for 8 lessons (8 lessons= one session). We can change the teacher at any point in the session if he/she and your group don’t think you make a good fit. If it is your first session (i.e. you haven’t had a session with the teacher before), we will refund money for remaining classes if you are not satisfied. (Example: you took 2 lessons and don’t wish to continue, we will refund money for 6 remaining classes.)
